Description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer Lead to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will focus on improving production efficiency, ensuring high product quality, and minimizing costs while ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Design and Enhancement: Create and implement innovative manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment. Continuously refine existing processes to boost efficiency and minimize waste.
- Issue Resolution and Troubleshooting: Tackle production challenges such as equipment breakdowns, quality issues, and delays. Work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and provide effective solutions.
- Project Leadership: Manage or assist with the planning and execution of manufacturing projects, including the introduction of new products, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
- Data Monitoring and Improvement: Gather and analyze production data to track efficiency, identify patterns, and suggest improvements. Apply methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to optimize workflows.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Ensure manufacturing equipment operates smoothly. Work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime and avoid disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, quality, and production teams to seamlessly integrate new products into manufacturing workflows. Provide technical support for design adjustments.
- Process Documentation: Keep precise and up-to-date records of manufacturing processes, equipment specifications, and improvements. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Safety and Compliance: Oversee that all manufacturing operations adhere to safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software, PDM, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including laser and TIG welding and CNC machining.
- Knowledge and experience working with electrical components and systems, and soldering is a plus.
- Electromechanical assembly design/manufacturing experience, including metrology methods and GD&T.
- Automation experience is a plus.
- Proven track record of fixture and production cell design to accommodate novel processing techniques.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to embrace continuous learning and stay up-to-date with technological advancements in manufacturing, such as automation and robotics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory standards such as ISO 9001 & 17025.
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
Work Environment:
- On-site position, working closely with production teams and management.
- Occasional travel to vendors or other facilities may be required.
