Description
Our client, a company offering comprehensive ultra-low temperature automated sample management systems, has an immediate opening for an Installation Field Technician. This role will travel to various sites for new installation and trainings for 2-6 weeks at a time, and resume normal field service duties and responsibilities once initial set-up and trainings are complete.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide variety of mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical assemblies from engineering drawings, schematics, verbal, and written procedures
- Assist team members with the integration of standard and customized products to meet customers’ requirements
- Troubleshoot units and perform corrections in support of the build
- Assist engineers on-site in testing assembly operations to manufacturing specifications
- Assist in preparing systems for shipment at the factory and perform on-site installations
- Perform testing at the system level to assess performance and validate unit functions according to specifications (in-house and at customer site)
- Utilize a variety of electronic and/or mechanical construction equipment
- Lift and hold 50 lbs. or more frequently
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Technical degree in Mechanics or Electronics or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of experience in the installation of large capital or construction equipment
- Experience with on-site installations of large automation capital equipment or construction-size projects preferred
- Machine shop experience preferred
- Ability to work well with engineers, management, and most importantly customers
- Ability to work as part of a cohesive team as well as independently
- Ability to manage and meet schedule commitments
- Adept at reading schematics and assembly drawings
- Able and willing to take direction and learn
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention-to-detail
- Up to 50% domestic and international travel is expected. Travel will consist of 2–6-week durations (including weekends)
