Description
System Design and Analysis:
Lead the design and analysis of HVAC and refrigeration on systems, ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations. Develop innovative solutions to meet client requirements, optimize system performance, and energy efficiency. Provide detailed system submittals including but not limited to mechanical airflow diagrams, sequences of operations, product data selections, calculations, and conceptual design sketches.
Team support and Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineered system designs into broader projects. Provide expert advice and technical guidance. Elaborate on system design specifications and adjust design as necessary to meet evolving client requirements and site conditions. Participate in project planning sessions, contributing to the development of project scopes, timelines, and budgets. Review project models and drawings to ensure quality and accuracy in system design and overall project specifications on adherence.
Departmental development:
Support the Director of Engineering in strategic initiatives and departmental goals, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and objectives. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into the design process as appropriate. Participate in the development of engineering department SOP’s.
Client Interaction and Project Coordination:
Attend project meetings with clients as needed to discuss project scope and requirements. Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients to achieve their desired objectives in a cost and energy efficient manner that remains consistent with project scope.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of HVAC and Refrigeration on systems with a strong focus on commercial and industrial applications. Experience with cleanrooms, industrial labs, and/or cold storage. Extensive experience with different refrigerant types, their properties, and the principles of thermodynamics and heat transfer as they pertain to refrigeration on systems. Experience with advanced refrigerant technologies such as trans critical CO2 systems and A2L systems is a plus. Demonstrated experience in communicating ng and collaborating with clients.
