
Description
Our client, a manufacturing company, has an immediate opening for a CNC Machinist. This role will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-precision parts while maintaining stringent quality and
safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications to plan machining operations effectively
- Set up and configure CNC machines, including inputting instructions, establishing zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation, and verifying part programs
- Load raw materials and workpieces into machines in accordance with specifications
- Verify machine settings by measuring positions, conducting first-run inspections, and evaluating sample workpieces to ensure accuracy
- Maintain quality standards by monitoring operations, measuring outputs, troubleshooting issues, and replacing worn tooling as needed
- Ensure production goals are met in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality
- Identify and communicate potential obstacles or issues that could affect task completion or production schedules
- Consistently demonstrate work behaviors that align with company values and adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following all safety protocols and regulations
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal functionality
- Complete all required documentation, including paper and electronic logs, with accuracy and attention to detail
- Other responsibilities as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and focus
- Capability to lift and handle materials up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while operating machinery
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, coolant, and machine operations
