Position Overview:
The Lead Robotics Engineer will play a critical role in designing and engineering disposable sUAS platforms. This position requires a unique blend of expertise in electrical engineering, PCB design, and product development to create innovative and user-friendly solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the PCB process from end to end, including requirements, design, prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing.
- Develop and refine the technology within sUAS designs.
- Provide expertise across a range of products to meet requirements and production needs.
- Conduct research, prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure high-quality, cost-effective products.
- Support and lead rapid product development cycles (3-6 months) with 6-week sprints.
- Test and debug electromechanical equipment.
- Provide innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate across multi-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical commercial hardware engineering and/or sustaining engineering.
- Strong expertise in blind and buried vias, high-density PCBs, and/or high-density interconnect (HDI) PCBs.
- Minimum 1 year of experience leading product development.
- 7+ years of experience in medium-to-high quantity manufacturing.
- 5+ years of experience using test equipment (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
- 7+ years of experience debugging electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer or similar EDA tools.
- Experience generating Technical Data Packages for manufacturing.
- Experience with layouts for single-board computers using system-on-modules.
- 7+ years of experience with power supply circuitry, motor control, and digital circuit design.
- 4+ years of experience with PCIE routing, MIPI, USB3, and Flexible PCBs.
- Knowledge of common interfaces such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
- 7+ years of experience supporting design changes or product reviews.
- 4+ years of experience creating documentation (ECOs and other process documentation).
- 4+ years of experience testing prototype hardware (EVT, DVT, etc.).
- Experience with design methodologies such as DFM, DFA, and DFMEA.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or equivalent (highly preferred).
- Experience working with suppliers and vendors for prototyping and production.
- Prior experience with gimbal systems, UAVs/Aerospace, or robotics (highly preferred).
- Experience with consumer electronics, such as IoT camera security systems or cell phones with CCMs.
- Hands-on design experience with OnSemi/Sony image sensor IC embedded design.
- Experience in the design, analysis, and part selection of M7-M12 style optics.
- Embedded design and simulation experience with GNSS and wireless radios, including chip-down design.
- Knowledge of C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers.
- Experience with drone systems and flight control, particularly for small uncrewed aerial systems.
- U.S. Military Veteran status.
- Active security clearance (not required but a plus).
