We are seeking a highly motivated Product Development Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves overseeing the Research and Development of our Dietary Supplement and Sports Nutrition lines. The Product Development Specialist will manage the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, collaborating both internally with various departments and externally with manufacturers and suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for Product Development/R&D in the Natural Products Industry, as well as recent graduates with a Bachelor’s in Nutritional Science, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Lead the product development process for new products, including ideation, research, ingredient sourcing, formulation, labeling, and product education.
• Source innovative ingredients and review them to ensure they meet product specifications.
• Stay current with industry trends and apply them to the development of new products.
• Create original product concepts and present them to the executive team.
• Review and analyze scientific literature to guide formulation decisions.
• Maintain positive, professional relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers to develop product formulations, solve problems, and propose solutions for development challenges.
• Coordinate cross-departmental efforts for product launches, ensuring compliance with labeling, marketing materials, and other requirements.
• Ensure all technical documentation meets ingredient and formula specifications.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing each project from initiation to launch.
• Review marketing materials for accuracy and appropriate emphasis.
• Conduct market analysis and competitive analysis to propose product pricing strategies.
• Maintain an electronic record of all development projects and concepts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Education/Experience/Certifications

• Associate’s degree in Product Development, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 1 to 3 years of experience in the natural products or sports nutrition industry.
