Description
Our client, a medical diagnostics company, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Mechanical Assembler. This role will work on engineering and technical projects and provide troubleshooting support for in-house instrumentation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform failure investigations on modules, identify root cause and repair plan, and complete associated documentation
- Develop and maintain work instructions and test procedures
- Assist technicians in setup and execution of test protocols
- Execute test protocols, record data, and report results
- Provide feedback and make recommendations for design and assembly improvements to Engineering
- Participate in key sustaining engineering activities. Drive improvements to manufacturability, reliability, and cost reduction through the execution and support of change orders
- Observe and document instrument failures as they occur
- Complete instrument QA records in accordance with SOP’s and good documentation practices
- Other responsibilities as required
Requirements:
- High school degree required
- AS or BS/BA in Biomechanical Engineering or Biological Sciences preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of industry experience within the manufacturing and/or engineering functions of a medical device company
- Must have electro-mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience or understanding of fluidics, motion control, and thermal systems as well as electro-mechanical components for these systems is preferred
- Basic bio lab skills such as safety, pipetting, and sample handling are a plus
- Great attention to detail, cleanliness, and environmental control
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment a plus
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) required
- Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to generating high quality work under tight deadlines
